Welcome to our Kakejiku Gallery, Japanese scrolls - hanging scroll of original Japanese painting and calligraphy.   All works are original and signed by the well-respected, traditional Japanese artists who are listed in the Bijutsu-nenkan, Japanese Fine Arts Annual.  Out of our catalogue of 6000, which are a collection of most of the artists in Japan, we have chosen approximately 685 works to show you in this section of Gallery.  Orders are express shipped directly to you from our warehouse & mounting place in Japan.  Each hanging scroll comes with a paulownia box.   Please scroll down and click on the image or the name of the theme you wish to view.

The theme of Sansui, mountain & water landscape, is the most popular style in traditional Japanese art that you can enjoy throughout the year.

"Suibokuga" is a Sumi (Indian ink) painting that is a black-and-white drawing.  There are also coloredl ink paintings using mineral pigments. "Suibokuga" produce a serene atmosphere in your room, whereas a colored ink painting will create a gorgeous feeling.

The mountain & water landscape was a long-time favorite theme in Japan since Kamakura period (1185-1333).
